Making cities smarter is currently a hot topic. The Connected City Conference organized by KPMG held on 30 January 2018, showcased innovations for the next generation of city living, which featured a number of speakers and examples from Smart Cities around the world.
Amongst them, Wisdom Chan, Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of CHAIN Technology Development, delivered a presentation of “Smart Tech”, expressed his view of creating a resilient and innovation culture for future generation.
Wisdom pointed out that the involvement of citizens is one important factor for creating innovation. He regarded Smart City as a society with connected people, where individual citizens and innovators contribute to problem-solving collectively. CHAIN wishes to make a contribution to building an big and open data portal for Hong Kong’s Smart City with the CHAIN’s flagship product, Hybrid Reality Platform (HRP), which serves as a platform allowing people from different disciplines to access easily.
For example, Hybrid Reality Platform can visualize urban open area with a spatiotemporal scale to reflect social and environmental dimensions of urbanization in Hong Kong. It is the bedrock of the performance management programs that allow cities to ensure continuous improvement.
During the conference, CHAIN also showcased HRP by demonstrating with another hero product, Ultra-Touch Table at the booth. CHAIN’s team explained how to operate such a multi-touch platform for collaborative environments and exchanged ideas on future Smart City with visitors. As a broad-minded startup, we are open to cooperation with different parties to reinvent the way people and city interact.
